 constant wireless problems

i have a linksys wireless router downstairs, recently ive been having alot of problems with the connection. I will be at an "excellent" connection status with a speed of about 54mbps, then it will go down to about 11 mbps and then disconnect, usually after hitting "repair" i can connect again but within 15 minutes it will happen again, ive tried changing wireless cards, but the same thing seems to keep happening

Try moving the position of the aerial on the wifi router and/or your wifi card?

Try updating the firmware in your wifi router?

Check that the power supply of the wifi router is not failing? (i.e. when this happens is your internet connection still OK as far as the router is concerned? The router status page will tell you this).
