Excellent article - very useful and practical. Further question for Scott..

If I want a button to clear the multi-select listbox selections and select a default value, what would the function look like please.

Example data in listbox:

0, All Colors; 1, Red; 2, Blue; 3, Green; 4, Yellow

Default is 0, 'All Colors'

Many thanks again

Another in a long list of quality contributions by Scott. The lame ass responses I continue to see are a bit disturbing. Thanks again Scott.

it seems to me that people don't pay enough attention to UI.  this technique is not about your ability with HTML or script, but rather your ability as a UI designer.  no beginner would think to do this, but to a real systems designer/programmer, this technique just scratches the surface of usability considerations.

i think more articles like this would be great.
