Short Description
Combine a textbox and list box to create lookup lists.

Long Description
We updated our lookup list technique with support for the 3.0 browsers. We combine a textbox and listbox to create a lookup list that works in the 3.0 browsers and later. As the user types in a textbox, the nearest match in the list box is automatically found.

This is a very slick idea and solves a big problem for me. I have two issues that I could use some help on:

As has been mentioned, when the option list grows beyond the size of the listbox, the box doesn't auto-scroll to the selection. Setting the listbox size to "1" will cause the auto-completed selection to display in the listbox, but has anyone run across a way have the box scroll with size settings over "1"?

My biggest problem is that if I stick the form into a table cell, the lookup stops working alltogether. I have a sample at http://www.ponyball.org/lookup.html and if anyone can tell me how to make the lookup work inside of an enclosing table, I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks,
Chuck Mayo

Was wondering if I can use this with a combo box that is getting populated with a cfselect query in Cold Fusion?

Liked the fact that I could just copy and past the code and it worked as is on my website.

well, I want that when you reah your choice and want to select that choice you should be able to hit enter in the text  box and it will fill up the select box value ( the match you found
